In The Walls
Two tales of horror. Our first story is the classic English ghost story, “Smee.” Our second tale is about a family haunted by the sound of bells ringing from within the walls of their home.

A quote from today’s first story. Our first tale is the legend of Louisiana voodoo priestess Julia Brown’s curse in 1915. Did she take a whole town with her when she died? And does her ghost still haunt the Manchac swamp? Our second story revolves around the Hmong culture’s belief in – and fear of – the tsog tsuam, “the evil spirit who smothers.” Can this creature quite literally scare you to death? Can a nightmare kill you?

Opening Sumerian protection spell (adapted):
“Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened. Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH.”

“Opening my eyes, I saw the same man, this time wearing a strange grin. His teeth were white enough to see in the dark… I started shaking.”
A quote from today’s first story. Our first tale – a collection of supposed sightings – is about a creature known as “The Grinning Man.” What is it and what does it want? Our second story is about an entity known mostly as “The Elemental.” Some believe it haunts the grounds of Ireland’s “Leap Castle”, and may be tied somehow to this old castle’s very bloody history.

“Becca was running down the hall as fast as she could. She felt the powerful malevolent energy behind her. What would happen if it caught her?”
A quote from today’s second story. In our first account, we go over the disappearance of Frederick Valentich from Australia in 1978. The last thing he communicated to air traffic control from the cockpit of his Cessna was a UFO harassing his plane. And then he disappeared forever. Our second tale takes us to Kentucky where a ten year-old girl and her single mom were pushed out of a home by strange and powerful poltergeist activity in the late 1980s. And then Lynze shares three different fan true horror submissions. Which story will leave you feeling Scared to Death?
