Slit-Mouthed Woman

“He ended up taking his sword to her face. He sliced open her cheeks from the corners of her mouth to her ears, and then he asked her, “Who will think you’re beautiful now?”

A quote from the first of Dan’s two stories this week. This first tale takes us to Japan for a haunting story about the Slit-Mouthed Woman. Once you see her, you are almost guaranteed to die. Or are you? Is there a way to avoid being drawn in by this mysterious woman and losing your life to her? The second story takes us back to Idaho! We are going to Idaho Falls once again. What is going on down there? Is this part of Idaho particularly haunted? Let’s find out. For the second half of the show, Lynze shares the occasional three fan stories to switch it up. All of the stories have a similar vibe about unknown entities in various situations, each affecting the listeners in different ways. The final of the three stories is the most disturbing. Do you think that child ghosts could be luring other children to the other side so they might have a forever playmate?

Opening Sumerian protection spell (adapted):
Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened. Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH.”
